This has been in the family for a long time. Grandma got this when she worked in a old Danish Bakery. The story goes she was dating one of the baker men. In her recipe collection there is so many recipes. From this bakery. All were handwritten in a mans handwriting. This favorite family recipe is made on holidays. Its has been rearranged a bit with added herbs or grated cheese. Brushed with some melted butter. Then inhaled..stuffed in your mouth goodness. Im sharing it will you all now. Heavenly Bread Rolls
Large bowl- 1 1/2 Tablespoon Active Drive Yeast
4 1/2 ounces warm water
3 ounce granulated sugar
2 pinches salt
1 1/2 pounds flour-all purpose flour
1 ounce dried powdered milk
3 ounce lard or shortening.
With clean hands. Blend all ingredients together. Just to blend. Divide into 15 sections..roll into balls.Onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cover with clean kitchen towel. Let rise twice the size. Bake 350 oven. Till lightly golden brown. 30 minutes aprox. Will be slightly soft.
* To the flour I love to use 1/2 tablespoon of Italian seasoning or 1/4 tablespoon dried majoriam with 1/4 dried dill .Brush tops with melted butter. Let cool.
